Xi Jinping Meets With Military Veterans

Recently Chinese President Xi Jinping extended Spring Festival greetings to the country’s military veterans. Xi Jinping who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, expressed these greetings while attending a gala held by the Central Military Commission for retired military officers of Beijing-based troops on Friday.

During the exchange the veterans and other gatherers pledged to gain a deep understanding of the decisive significance of Xi Jinping Thought on strengthening the military. They acknowledged the importance of further establishing Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and of establishing the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

The veterans also pledged to implement the system of ultimate responsibility resting with the CMC Chairman and vowed to contribute their part of achieving the centenary goals of the People’s Liberation Army by 2027 and to advance modernisation of national defence in general.

In 2020 the Institute of Military History Research and Academy of Military Science published a three part volume titled – “The War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.” This three part series focusing on the Korean war was translated and published in English through the Foreign Language Press.
